Mizuki walked through the forest it was dead of night and pretty cold the wind blew harshly against her skin. She sighed deeply knowing she could not feel the wind she then sat down laying gently against the tree. She ran her finger up her staff and then put her hand by her side she stook off her hat"A year to find my sacrifice"she sgihed deeply again her her lips trailed everyone word with softness. She slowly brought her left leg up to her body and rested one arm on it. She picked up her hat and put it on her head and lowered her head till her chin touched her chest and her hat lowered over her eyes she looked as if she was in a peaceful sleep but infact she was listening to the sounds around her. Every animal every insect. Again the wind blowed and again she could not feel it."I want to feel so bad"

A sharp chill flew like blades along with the wind, piercing any open skin when someone left the safety of the building. The skies overhead would have normally been dotted with bright stars. That would have been nice, Devin liked the stars. Instead it was a dark grey color, symbolizing a coming snow, and perhaps colder weather, with more wind. The clouds looked as angry as a stormy sea as they loomed over, but the boy guessed it was just because of the dark. No sign of sun, or moon in this case, with the ability to breach the resisting storm. But considering the possibility of a harsh blizzard occuring sometime, perhaps one with horizontal winds and complete white-out conditions, Devin managed to look optimistically upon the situation. As optimistically as he could, anyways, there wasn't much good to cold, or grey, or anything about the weather. But truthfully, he was a bit occupied at the moment.
He had heard a rumor, not from anyone he knew or was even aquainted with for that matter. More he had eavesdropped a small snippet of a conversation. It was about Crystal Lake, and what it looked like at nights. The man he had overheard spoke about how it was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. 'Like black glass,' he had said. Being curious like he was, Devin had set out on a miniscule adventure for the night. The boy's deep brown eyes were fixated on the lake ahead of him, imaging what kind of beauty lay behind the trees in his way. Unfortunately the wind got in the way. A sudden blast to the face made him shut his eyes tightly. Now blinded, Devin stumbled his way into the path of a tree root. The next thing he felt was the ground, which rushed up to meet his fallen-self.
Oh, the wind was a terrible thing. In some instances, such as a hot and humid summer afternoon where the clouds stood still to resemble the air's stillness, wind was wonderful. In that situation, Devin would have to have chosen the hot and humid summer day, where he wouldn't have had nearly as much trouble with those blasted papers. Though, if of course, a few months previous to the event it had been a hot and humid summer afternoon, and the boy would have easily preferred the current weather: cold and blustery with hardly any signs of green thanks to the temperature that chilled and blanketed the shriveled vegetation with an ugly shade of brown. It was then that Devin realized just how cold he really was, and how idiotic he had been to brave the weather without any sort of coat. He thought back to his home, where both his winter-wear and warm scarf were laying around in plain view. If only he could turn back time. Infact, any sort of magic would be nice.
He had landed almost flat on his face, having an unplesant close-up view of the ground surrounding the Crystal Lake. Other than slightly embarrassed, he felt fine. The only pain was on his palms where the cold of the ground seemed to burn. No wounds, he was fine. On to the next precaution. He glanced around one more time, looking for people this time. It was just better if no one saw him fall. He almost laughed to himself, who was out here in the dead of night anyways?

She tried jumping for it but couldn't reach it and fell harshly on her butt"Man"she quickly got up again and started chasing after the ruaway hat

Devin knew no one without a reason would appear all the way outside of Kar this late at night, but would that explain the voices? Or was it even there? It may not have been known, but the boy had a rather active imagination, and often times it put him in a state of confusion. Though he liked the night, and found the stars to be one of his favorite things(he was a bit disappointed that he couldn't see them tonight), it was almost definately more dangerous. Even the sharpest of eyes weren't meant to be nocturnal, any sort of danger could lie around a corner or a small distance away, where the only thing seen was darkness. The thought of danger often created an image of just that in Devin's mind. It was probably what was happening now, and so he moved on.
But there it was again. Female vocals, he was sure of it. It sounded as though someone was calling for something. With the surroundings and the weather, already rather chilling, the voice sounded eerie. Like it belonged to a ghost. Devin tried to calm himself, knowing that he was over-reacting. Night was dangerous, yes, but how would anyone know where he was? He was under the cover of the woods. The woods... Millions of branches gave the effect of just as many arms reaching out to drag him into a tomb. With no one there no one would be able to rescue him! Devin was on the brink of panicking.
Something moved. He saw it out of the corner of his eye and his heart seemed to take a mighty leap and fall into a rapid pulse. Had it been bigger he would have forgotten all about the supposed beautious sight of the lake and tear back towards Kar. However, the uncharted flying object wasn't bigger than, well, a hat. Infact that's exactly what it was. Harmless, a piece of clothing, how did he let himself get so scared? It landed when the wind died down. Without thinking about why it was there, or who it belonged to, Devin curiously wandered up to it and picked it up from the ground. He hadn't yet been aware of the girl's prescense, or made the connection that the hat belonged to her as well as the voice he had heard.

Devin made the connection only as a girl bowed upon arrival. He was rather surprised to see her, after all, who came out at night this far from Kar? Hadn't he just convinced himself no one did? And yet, here stood a girl, and her hat, right in front of the boy. It took a moment for her words to sink in, but soon Devin had gotten over the fact that someone else was here in the woods. He extended his arms before him to return the hat, letting out a simple reply so muffled it only slightly resembled something along the lines of 'Right...' And yet, was that answer significant? His curiosity told him differently. And so he spoke. "If you don't mind me asking," Devin paused for a moment to retrace his words, making sure they didn't sound threatening or impolite. "It's not often you run across someone out this late, unless of course you come out this late a lot..." That wasn't a question. For fear of sounding like a moron he corrected himself quickly. "I mean...Why are you out so late?"

Once again Devin found himself taken aback by the girl's words. Not really what they were or their meaning, though that was rather surprising as well. But the tone in which they held, the matter-of-fact way they were spoken. But he had some indication as to why she was so open with the topic. She opposed no threat, which meant she was probably friendly and outgoing. She looked just as old as he did, which meant, had the homelessness been a problem all her life, she would have had 17 years to cope with it. But then, some people were just accepting. Although she hadn't answered him directly, he made an assumption that she wandered about at night more often than others would. He dismissed it as an unusual habit, but nor necessarily wierd. Devin knew the girl before him must be more open than most anyone he had met. Already he knew a decent portion of her personality, her current status, and potentially her history.
"Me?" he responded as she addressed him with his own questions twisted back towards him. "I heard something about the lake at night. It's supposed to be the most amazing thing you could ever see." Once more the boy let himself slip back into a small imaginitive haze. If only he had come on a clear night, where there was no wind. The surface would be smooth and undisturbed, mirroring the man's quote, 'black glass'. "I wish I would have picked a different night." Devin added, shattering his own thoughts and returning his attention back to the conversation. "I'm Devin."

She then rembered that he probaly would remeber the news of Her Family on how her house was raided and supposedly a girl with her apprearnce and name was supposed to be dead
